ABOUT US
Briarcroft is a substantial detached Victorian house, situated close to Teignmouth town centre on Dawlish Road. It has been a reputable care home for over 30 years.
The care home is less than a half mile from Teignmouth town centre and train station. It has a large car park and is located across from a bus stop. It is approximately 3 miles from Dawlish and 12 miles from Exeter.
The home provides for a warm welcome with an enclosed entrance porch entering into an attractive reception area. Accommodation is on two floors with the original Victorian staircase and a 4 person passenger lift to the first floor. It has a spacious lounge with sea views, separate dining area and a sun lounge. All but one bedroom is for single occupation. It also has 2 new rooms converted from the old flat on the ground level with a separate sitting area, bathroom and a large conservatory, access to this is via a chairlift and has access to all the carer services provided to the rest of the care home.
Briarcroft is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and accredited with Devon County Council. We care for twenty people over the age of retirement who for various reasons are no longer able to live independently or no longer wish to do so.
The registration categories OP and DE allow our team of staff to specialize in the care of men and women over the age of 60 who have been diagnosed by a person qualified to do so as suffering from the clinical state of various forms of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease. We endeavour to provide a homely environment, which is suited to the needs of the residents.
Briarcroft care home was taken over by 2 General Practitioners: Dr Neel and Dr Jaiprakash(JP), in April 2015.
The Owners and new manager Edith, together have vast experience of over 50 years in caring for the elderly. Since the takeover the new owners have invested heavily into the care home and will continue to do so to make Briarcroft a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment that the residents need. Edith has been working very hard to train and ensure the staff are trained to her high standards and are able to offer the best service to our residents.
Dr Neel and Dr JP are always at hand and ensure that the manager and staff are supported in providing high quality care.

There comes a point in everyone’s life when they may no longer be able to take care of themselves. Nature calls for the families of each individual to take care of them, just as they were cared for when they were young. Unfortunately, careers and other matters of modern life can often make this a difficult task. Briarcroft Care Home provides the support that retirees and their families require, including Medication Monitoring services, which we are more than happy to offer.

Many of our community members at Briarcroft require some degree of health and well-being monitoring. Our Care Home provides complimentary and customisable Nutritional and Dietary Counselling services for all our residents. By catering to the personal needs of each resident, we go just one step further to make everyone feel like they’re truly at home at Briarcroft Care Home.
